Beit Ahavah Groups and CommitteesBelow is a list of the current Beit Ahavah groups and committees. Sitting on a committee is a great way to get involved, help the community, meet new people, and develop your interests. For more information about an individual committee or to contact the chair, contact the Beit Ahavah office. ChesedThe Chesed Committee responds to
the needs of individual members who are going through a crisis or life
change (birth or adoption of a child, illness, death in the family,
etc). Members of the committee assist members in need by providing
direct service to them and by organizing and coordinating other members
of the Beit Ahavah community to do the same. Membership & Public RelationsThe
membership committee is responsible for providing leadership for
supporting growth in new community membership and for building
community. The committee is also responsible for presenting Beit Ahavah
to the community at large and promoting community events. EducationThe
Education Committee is responsible for overseeing the development and
operations of the Beit Ahavah Community School. The committee works
closely with the director of the school (Rabbi Riqi Kosovske) on a
myriad of issues. The committee also coordinates adult education as it
relates to the community school, oversees the Hebrew instructional
program, and sets policy for the B'nai Mitzvah program. Adult EducationThis committee works to establish policies for and determine content of our adult educational offerings. Prayer and PracticeThe
Prayer and Practice Committee is responsible for addressing any issues
that pertain to religious practice, including the structure and content
of services, the selection of prayer books, High Holiday Services
coordination, etc. Social ActionThe
Social Action Committee takes the values of our community and extends
them into the greater community by identifying issues of concern and
linking with other like-minded groups with whom we can work to meet the
needs of others and work for social change. Administration and FinanceThe
Finance and Administration Committee is responsible for budget and
operations of the congregation, as well as fundraising activities. The
committee is part of the Board membership and meets regularly as needed. Website: Open Please Contact us for more information. Beit Ahavah This page last updated: 2008 March 24 (fz) |
