Beit Ahavah Groups and Committees

Below is a list of the current Beit Ahavah groups and committees. Sitting on a committee is a great way to get involved, help the community, meet new people, and develop your interests. For more information about an individual committee or to contact the chair, contact the Beit Ahavah office.

Chesed

The Chesed Committee responds to the needs of individual members who are going through a crisis or life change (birth or adoption of a child, illness, death in the family, etc). Members of the committee assist members in need by providing direct service to them and by organizing and coordinating other members of the Beit Ahavah community to do the same.

Membership & Public Relations

The membership committee is responsible for providing leadership for supporting growth in new community membership and for building community. The committee is also responsible for presenting Beit Ahavah to the community at large and promoting community events.

Education

The Education Committee is responsible for overseeing the development and operations of the Beit Ahavah Community School. The committee works closely with the director of the school (Rabbi Riqi Kosovske) on a myriad of issues. The committee also coordinates adult education as it relates to the community school, oversees the Hebrew instructional program, and sets policy for the B'nai Mitzvah program.

Adult Education

This committee works to establish policies for and determine content of our adult educational offerings.

Prayer and Practice

The Prayer and Practice Committee is responsible for addressing any issues that pertain to religious practice, including the structure and content of services, the selection of prayer books, High Holiday Services coordination, etc.

Social Action

The Social Action Committee takes the values of our community and extends them into the greater community by identifying issues of concern and linking with other like-minded groups with whom we can work to meet the needs of others and work for social change.
Chair: Margaret Miller

Administration and Finance

The Finance and Administration Committee is responsible for budget and operations of the congregation, as well as fundraising activities. The committee is part of the Board membership and meets regularly as needed.
