Havdalah Havurah

Havdalah Havurah meets the 4th Saturday of the month from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. to celebrate Havdalah and connect with adults, teens, and interested youth on art and cultural topics. It is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate Havdalah among friends (perhaps for the first time!).

Each event begins with sharing our personal experiences of Shabbat the past weekend; followed by Havdalah rituals with blessings, braided candles, sweet spices, and wine; and then an activity! Activities are sometime taught by a visiting instructor, and are sometimes lay-led. Participants are encouraged to being their own knowledge and experience to each event, but no prior experience is required. Past activities have included:

  • Jewish Calligraphy for Beginners
  • Drumming Workshop
  • Quilling Workshop
  • Yiddish Story Night
  • Mini Challah Day
  • And more!

Celebrate Havdalah and savor the sweetness of Shabbat in community — all are welcome. Generous support from the Harold Grinspoon Foundation.
